Vera Wang’s Women’s Fashion Collections for Fall

By

While we may be looking towards spring, as February gives way to March and winter slowly recedes, fashion designers are already promoting their latest fall creations at Mercedes Benz’s Fashion Week in New York City, running through the 16th. Popular designer names such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Vera Wang represent on the runway, as they showcase their newest creations and update audiences on what’s in vogue for fall.

Chinese-American designer Vera Wang’s pre-fall showcase Tuesday included “a mix of girlish femininity” featuring “gray wool, watercolor prints, tied chiffon blouses, chunky sweaters, boxy blouses and tuxedo jackets. The collection exemplified a thrillingly modern twist on the classic gown,” according to a report of the show from The International Business Times.

In addition to the modern gown, Style.com reports that Vera’s collection was also full of business jackets and super-short, wispy hemlines layered with bolero sweaters or vests. The show was reviewed as “all woman” by the stylists, who expect Wang to succeed with awards season approaching, as she dresses the stars for red carpet events.

Wang also introduced her fall wedding collection, Witchcraft, a collection of black and nude wedding wear described as “light and airy concoctions of froth… inspired by black and nude undergarments, both mysterious and sexy, frivolous and fun, with transparent wisps of carefully organized tulle” by Vera Wang’s wedding website and look book. Witchcraft’s off-white ivory tones paired with black tulle make a bold, yet feminine statement that is far from the traditional wedding white, but still classy and elegant.

However, as fall isn’t quite upon us yet, Wang’s stylists have some tips for the approaching spring looks next season. According to Vera’s blog, “peplum” (a short ruffle attached to a jacket, skirt or dress) is all the rage. Vera added the wispy ruffles to several gowns in her spring showing. Will you sport this chic, girly look this season?
